Dims lock out 'Pubs. Show their true colors.

"The Democratic chairman of the House committee responsible for government oversight has indefinitely locked Republican members out of the hearing room, following a dispute over a mortgage loan controversy. 

Kurt Bardella, spokesman for ranking Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Chairman Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., had the locks on the Republican entrance changed Tuesday. 

The move was apparently was in retaliation for Issa's efforts to subpoena records on Countrywide's so-called VIP loan program and for a video Issa's staff recorded of Democrats darting from their chambers a week ago in the face of a vote. 

"They say we will have access to the hearing room when the general public does," Bardella told Foxnews.com. "I'm embarrassed for them." 

Bardella jokingly toyed with the idea of "TP"-ing the hearing room in response. "We can play at the second-grade level just like anybody else can," he said. 

A representative from Towns's office could not be reached for comment. 

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee apparently was miffed over a video the Republicans took last Thursday and posted on the minority Web site. 

At the meeting, Issa had threatened to demand a vote on subpoenaing Bank of America for records of the Countrywide loan program, through which prominent members of Congress and officials are accused of receiving VIP loans. Democrats cancelled the meeting, though, citing a conflict with another committee. 

Issa's office posted a Web video, under the title "Hit the Road, Jack," showing empty Democratic seats in the hearing room, followed by footage of Democrats leaving their chambers. 

Bardella said his boss won't stop bringing up the Countrywide issue. 

"We're going to bring this up at every opportunity possible until we have an up-or-down vote," he said. "

 

 

 

 

Well, having Dimocrats behave like second graders is no surprise since most of them function at the second grade level. (There's a few on OS that are pretty sharp, but only a few.) The above video is great because it shows the rats scurrying back down into the gutter.

Of course the Dims do not want the light of day shown on their activities with Countrywide. Fannie Mae was just a cash cow for Dims and their cronies....at the expense of the taxpayer. The subprime mess was almost exclusively the fault of the Dims. Obviously, they were hoping the scam would continue longer. ( Can you say Community Reinvestment Act?...I knew you could.....good boys and girls.)

His hands were tied with white plastic handcuffs. The soldier who opened fire on him should have known, on the basis of the plastic handcuffs if not of coordination with his fellow soldiers stationed in Asaad al-Samouni’s house a few hundred metres away, that he had been searched and detained by the Israeli armed forces. In opening fire on Iyad al-Samouni, the Israeli armed forces shot deliberately at a civilian who posed no threat to them.

741. While the fire directed at Iyad al-Samouni could have been intended to incapacitate rather than to kill, by threatening his family members and friends with lethal fire, the Israeli armed forces ensured that he did not receive lifesaving medical help. They deliberately let him bleed to death.

In my opinion, this further forces Israel's hand in having to attack Iran in order to deflect scrutiny from their war crimes. As I previously reported, Israel has taken early delivery of two more nuclear missile capable German subs. It should take them at least a month to get the crews up to speed, so anytime after, say, mid November look for an attack.

Further complicating things is Russia's desire to delay sanctions. It is telling that the Russians made this statement after Israel said if sanctions weren't working by Christmas they would attack Iran, so the Russian desire to delay sanctions had guaranteed an attack on Iran. Gee, you think Putin may have been behind that?

There is also the U.S. desire to speed up production of large bunker busting conventional munitions. It is my feeling that it may prevent Israel from having to use tactical nukes to take the Iranian sites out. I think we feel the international reaction to an Israeli attack would be milder if nukes were not involved. From the Israeli standpoint, they will use whatever it takes to get the job done.

We also have the following from CBS: "Instead, the crowd heard experts suggesting the military option is a very realistic one; and a retired U.S. Air Force general said Israel might open fire first - and that the United States would find it wise to join in.

Gen. Charles Wald, former head of strategic planning and policy for the Air Force who also had been deputy commander at U.S. European Command, said a bombing campaign - while "unpalatable" - could set back Iran's nuclear work for many years.

"I don't think Israel can do it alone," Wald added. "They have a fantastic military, but not big enough for weeks or months of attacks - hundreds of sorties per day."

So, we have an American General basically saying that that a prolonged attack on Iran would be necessary. Some of us on OS have speculated about this. I believe President Obama would like to sit out an attack on Iran, but our military understands we are obligated to aid Israel. I think if Obama balks at assisting Israel, we may see a coup here in the U.S. as the military is making it quite clear that they will help Israel regardless.

With each passing day Israel is feeling more pressure to attack Iran. It's going to happen. Who will be the big winner(s) if it does?

Well, the Russians have announced two joint ventures with India. One is to build a supersonic cruise missile that is virtually impossible to shoot down. The missiles can travel at mach 3 and can operate in groups to wit: "The missiles are so clever that they not only detect a target but develop a plan of attack based on the enemy’s air defense. They know exactly which target is the primary one, which of them is an attacker and which is a defender. When the main target is destroyed, they re-prioritize and continue with the attack. (Pravda)"

The second joint venture is the collaboration on a 5th generation fighter. As an aside, the Russians are relocating their Backfire bomber production line to China.

Thus we see great cooperation between Russia, India and China. We must also consider efforts to end the dollar as the main reserve currency. The Russians and Arabs would like to see this and, in actuality, it is already happening. The United States is getting weaker and weaker at a time when we need strong, solid leadership. Our military is going to aid Israel, is Obama going to join them?

So, the MainStream Media has been busy lynching Rush Limbaugh over some supposedly racist comments Rush made. Although I am not a big Rush fan, his treatment by the MSM just illustrates they have absolutely no credibility left.

The MSM simply took unverified quotes from Wikiquotes and an unsourced book and spread the lies throughout the nation. They should be sued and they should lose big. Their lame excuses for not doing their due diligence are typical of today's liberal left wing media.

From AFP:  "China has detected deadly nerve gas at its border with North Korea and suspects an accidental release inside the secretive state, a Japanese news report said Friday.

The Chinese military is strengthening its surveillance activities after detecting the highly virulent sarin gas in November last year and in February in Liaoning province, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported, citing anonymous sources from the Chinese military."

Yes, the North Koreans have an estimated 5,000 tons of chemical and biological weapons. If those 10k plus artillery pieces aimed at Seoul are loaded with sarin, the South will not be too happy about that.

As I say, Obama has a lot on his plate and the Dimocrats continue to just fizzle out. We have many potential problems of a very serious nature and we have a rank amatuer in the White House to deal with them.

The Quayle Vice Presidential Museum (Huh?)

I'm sure most people know about the various Presidential libraries/museums out there, but what about the Vice Presidents?

Well, believe it or not, there is a Vice Presidential museum. It is located in Huntington, Indiana, which was the hometown of James Danforth Quayle. Dan Quayle, as you may recall, was the 44th Vice President under George H. W. Bush. (1989-1993)

The Quayle Vice Presidential museum opened on June 17, 1993 and in early 2002 the name was changed to The Dan Quayle Center, home of the United States Vice Presidential Museum. The upper floor of the museum houses the Quayle collection, while the lower floor has artifacts of one sort or another from all 47 Vice Presidents.

The above photo was taken of a 1780's newspaper on display at the museum. It lists the first Presidential and Congressional salaries. Note that the Senators and Representatives got a whopping 6 dollars per day. Of course, even this is excessive pay for the current crop of worthless legislators we have in Congress, on both sides of the aisle. (Also, the VP salary was only one fifth that of the President)

This next photo is of some of the main floor exhibits. The Quayle exhibit has many excellent artifacts, including this shirt worn by young Dan, as well as his dog chewed law degree.

The small gift shop has some nice, reasonably priced, items but does not include Mr. Potatoe Head toys or any Dick Cheney autographed miniature water boards. (sorry lefties, you'll just have to keep waiting for those)

Some of us remember all too well the pounding that 'ol Dan took at the hands of the media for a few minor gaffes. However, the Vice President was not the goofball he has been portrayed as. Here is some boiler plate bio:

I just found about this group. This isn't about right or left, Democrat or Republican, it's about protecting our constitution.

Right now about 3% of our military belongs to this group and it's numbers are growing fast. I am not a member, but will join as an associate if funds permit. (Things are tight for me right now)

The reason I am posting this is because I now feel like our situation is not hopeless. We now have a core group of military and law enforcement who WILL NOT be following orders to round up an exterminate or otherwise take action against their fellow Americans. This is important. We know some of what was going on under Bush 43 and we know Obama is continuing much of this stuff. The FEMA camps were set up by Reagan back in 1984, but for the non-nefarious purposes for which they are now envisioned.

Oath Keepers gives us an important and powerful ally in defense of the constitution and our liberties.

Obama gets the Prize.

Well, it looks like BHO getting awarded the Nobel Peace Prize caught just about everyone off guard. Of particular interest is the fact that nominations for the 2009 prize ended on February 1st, so Obama had only been in office for a couple of weeks or so.

The 1.4 million dollars he gets along with the medal is a nice little personal stimulus package. Those who voted for him and were hoping for a big stimulus package of their own will just have to be joyful and happy that at least Obama scored big. (How's that Detroit stimulus working out?)

Clearly, Obama got the prize for his campaign rhetoric. The socialist world was tiring of Bush and along comes Obama promising hope and change and touchy-feely encounter group sessions with the world's most evil leaders. All we are saying........is give peace a chance.

Unforseen by anyone is just how bad the timimg of this award is.  McChrystal is begging for 40,000 more troops for  Afghanistan and it looks like an attack on Iran will be happening any day now. Obama may be humbled to get the peace prize, but you can bet his head just swelled considerably. The narcissistic, publicity loving Obama is not going to want to disappoint those who gave him the peace prize by suddenly becoming a war monger.

I would wager he will now try to be even more pacifistic than Chamberlain. Our troop morale is already suffering. Not allowing our guys to go kick some ass is just going to exacerbate an already bad situation. Our "rules of engagement" only allow our troops to fire on specifically identifiable targets, thus limiting their ability to neutralize threats, but it does limit civilian casualties. Sorry, but if you are actually tring to win a war, then NO targets are off limits. (Where's "Stormin' Norman when you need him?)

The other side of the coin is that overtly Obama becomes more of a pacifist, but covertly things heat up.....in terms of torture in an effort to extract information that might result in the elimination of the enemy with reduced casualties so that we still make progress but look like we are not so brutal in our overt efforts. (Basically a continuation of Bush/Cheney information extraction policies times ten)

Things are just going to continue to pile up for Obama. How much more can he deal with? How much longer are the powers that be going to put up with his incompetence?

 

 

 

 

 

 

The French: Money for Nothing, Chicks for Free.

"The deputy chief executive of France Telecom today resigned in the wake of a spate of staff suicides that unions have blamed on a bullying management style and brutal approach to restructuring.

The former state monopoly, now Europe's third-biggest phone company, has seen its brand name, Orange, suffer a public relations disaster as 24 workers have killed themselves in shocking circumstances in the last 18 months, with at least a dozen others making failed attempts to take their lives. Some staff were found dead in their workplace or left harrowing notes blaming the company for "management by terror" and bullying.

In the latest death, a 51-year-old threw himself off a bridge in the Alps after being moved from a back-office job to one in a call centre. Previously, a 32-year-old jumped from her office in front of colleagues at the end of the working day. Both left notes blaming unbearable working conditions and enforced job changes."

So, why are the French really killing themselves? Because they finally have to work for a living. No more 30-35 hour work weeks, no more 30-90 day vacations, shucks, life is hell. (Well, they still have that stuff, but not for much longer)

Although the under 35 crowd in America would not know a good days work if it bit them in the ass, the United States as a whole is still at least twice as productive as other countries.

In less than 200 years from the Declaration of Independence, we have gone from musket technology to developing the technology and infrastructure to put a man on the moon.

Meanwhile, cave paintings discovered in France indicate a human presence in that area for at least 13,000 years; and in that entire span of time the French have learned how to do three main things: Stomp grapes, make a souffle and invent gay porn movies.

Yet, for some reason, the world is enamored with French culture--of which there really isn't any. (If only von Choltitz had carried out his orders)

I particularly have to laugh at the fact the French are pissed that McDonalds wants to open a restaurant at the Louvre as it is seen as an insult to French culture. Yeah, I guess those French produced golden shower videos are so much more high culture than a Mickey D's.

This illustrates why we never should have rebuilt an ungrateful Europe after WWII.

One also has to wonder about any country where their females do not know how to use a razor. Men do not find hairy legs or armpits particularly appealing. (Though some French chicks do shave now--progress)

Frankly, it's pretty pathetic that you have people killing themselves over a changing job assignment because it is too stressful. Ask any American small business owner, many of whom work 12-14 hrs./day 7 days a week, about stress. Ask any American salesman who works on straight commission about stress. We aren't jumping out of windows because we have learned how to develop a thick skin and understand what it is to work for a living, unlike much of Europe.

Even in the midst of a horrible economic situation, most of us Americans are bucking up and dealing with it as best we can.

If you French want to keep killing yourselves 'cause y'all finally have to work for a living and may be losing that big government tit to suck on (I'm not talking about a safety net), then go ahead and keep up the good work.

INTELLIGENCE chief Sir John Scarlett has been told that Saudi Arabia is ready to allow Israel to bomb Iran’s new nuclear site.

The head of MI6 discussed the issue in London with Mossad chief Meir Dagan and Saudi officials after British intelligence officers helped to uncover the plant, in the side of a mountain near the ancient city of Qom.

The site is seen as a major threat by Tel Aviv and Riyadh. Details of the talks emerged after John Bolton, America’s former UN ambassador, told a meeting of intelligence analysts that “Riyadh certainly approves” of Israel’s use of Saudi airspace.

The article goes on to state that the site was detected three years ago by British, U.S. and French intelligence sources. (It's not everyday that one gets to use the words French and intelligence in the same sentence) I'll have to admit that it was kind of scummy of Bush to pass this gig on to Obama, but "W" had a lot on his plate.

With the Saudi green light I'd say the chance of an Israeli strike on Iran is 100%. The politics in that area and why the Saudis would let an enemy like Israel use their airspace would take a mile long post to get into, but the bottom line is that the go ahead has been given.

Iran has perhaps one opportunity to stop an attack, but the way things are shaping up, I doubt they will do it.

If you can afford it, it may not be a bad time to start stocking up on supplies of food, water and such.

Against all enemies, both foreign and domestic.

On the foreign enemies front we see that Iran sent a letter to the IAEA disclosing a large uranium enrichment plant near the southern city of Qom.

This is bad news times ten. I must admit that I am quite surprised that Israel has not already attacked Iran. Israel's security has always been priority one and any threat to it has been harshly dealt with.

The only possible reason that Israel has not yet attacked Iran would be their fear of Russian retaliation............which could/would be massive and then the U.S. would have to jump in with both feet. Not a pleasant prospect.

The Iranian disclosure (we, apparently, have known about it for a while) of the second nefarious reactor now guarantees an Israeli response. Considering the logistics of a conventional strike on Iran's nuclear facilities, the Israeli's may have to use a couple of small nukes themselves to properly get the job done. At any rate, an Israeli strike at Iran would cause us serious problems as well.

The international community is finally getting upset at Iran since there is no legitimate purpose for the second facility except to produce weapons grade uranium. This may be the saving grace for Israel. The Russians might even sit out getting involved, but they will have to have a huge carrot offered to them which I think they will accept, but we will have to pay for it later.

For political purposes Israel may have to wait while the world tries out harsh sanctions against Iran, but Israel may just decide to hit them in the very near future anyway....................stay tuned.

 

On the domestic enemies front the economy is still a big one. It is being reported that the unemployment rate for young Americans aged 16-24 is 52.2%. This means more kids staying at home with their parents who will have to continue to support them for several more years. It also means that their co-signer parents will have to start paying back their kids student loans, so less money to spend, and consumer spending is 70% of our economy.

Two thirds of the jobs in the U.S. come from small business, but none of the Obama stimulus bills have any significant assistance for small biz. (largely because big biz can afford bigger bribes and payouts to politicians) Thus, we will continue to have high unemployment.

No job, no pay the mortgage, so, forclosures will continue to increase and retail will continue to suffer, putting more people out of work. On the bright side the stock market will probably continue to rise until the elites decide to cash out and then Humpty Dumpty will come tumbling down.

Besides the high unemployment for the entry level young workers, white collar middle manager layoffs have increased 56% since 2007. So, yes, the rich have been getting richer. What happens when the middle class bread winner gets laid off/let go and their kid just graduates from college with large student loan debt and no job prospects? You starve to death is what happens...............and you will start seeing that happen soon too.

There was a time when I thought these things would just work themselves out, as they have in the past, but now I just do not think they will.
