Explosive History: Southern Democrats and Black Genocide.






In any recent election, it is estimated that 90% of blacks vote Democrat. Why?



A while back I mentioned, in a post whose title now escapes me, about black worker displacement during the Great Depression. If a white man needed a job and a black man had a job, the black worker was fired and the white worker was given the job.



It should be remembered that during the Depression food shortages were common, despite the agrarian nature of the nation, because many crops were destroyed in order to maintain commodity prices. "The Agricultural Adjustment Act (AAA) (Pub.L. 73-10, enacted May 12, 1933) restricted agricultural production in the New Deal era by paying farmers to reduce crop area. Its purpose was to reduce crop surplus so as to effectively raise the value of crops, thereby giving farmers relative stability again.[when?] The farmers were paid subsidies by the federal government for letting a portion of their fields lie fallow. The money for these subsidies was generated through an exclusive tax on companies which processed farm products. The Act created a new agency, the Agricultural Adjustment Administration, to oversee the distribution of the subsidies. It is considered the first modern U.S. farm bill." ( Gosh, isn't government incompetence great? )



Now, during our Depression, the United States was busy busting the Soviet Union's chops over the Holodomor famine in the Ukraine. A modern Russian researcher by the name of Boris Borisov was a bit irritated by this and decided to examine the American Great Depression in an attempt to discover the number of thoise who perished between roughly 1930 and 1940. Borisov concluded, using some pretty good data along with conservative extrapolation, that about 7 and one half million people died of starvation and other causes during the Depression.



A disproportionate number of those would have been blacks, due to the black worker displacement of the time. The Democrat Roosevelt administration obviously did not care much about the excessive number of starving blacks. (They were only too happy, however, to train blacks as houseboys though. That was a WPA project of the period.)



The main premise of this post is that Southern Democrats, and Democrats in general, are, in fact, responisble for the deaths of more American blacks than were Jews killed by the Nazi's.



There are some complicating factors involved when trying to pin down the exact number of blacks that were killed. One problem is trying to determine the actual black population of pre-Civil War America. Prior to emancipation, blacks were considered personal property and taxed.



People did not like paying property taxes in 1850 any more than we do today, so it is no stretch to assume that large plantation owners under reported the number of slaves they owned. Another problem is that many pre-1900 court houses were made of wood and many were destroyed by fire, as were the records contained therein. Nonetheless, one can conservatively conclude a 10%-15% under reporting of blacks on the census.



If we check census data we see that in 1860 the racial breakdown was 26.9 million whites to 4.4 million blacks. Thus, blacks were 14% of the population. In 1870 the breakdown was 33.6 million whites to 4.9 million blacks. Despite horrific losses during the war the white population had increased 20% while the black population during the same period increased by only 10%. (After 1865, there would have been no need to continue to under report blacks so a much greater black population count would have been expected for the 1870 census--though we do see a spike on the 1880 census.)



I'll explain why these next stats are important in a minute. The white population had increased by 23% from 1870 to 1880 while the black population jumped by 26% from 1870 to 1880. (I'll frame this in context with the Compromise of 1877 shortly)



It was well known by the founding fathers that blacks had a prolific reproduction rate. This resulted in the Three-Fifths compromise developed during the 1787 Philadelphia Convention. Had the slave population been counted as 100%, slave states would have had greater representation in the House and Electoral College---and we can't have that now can we?



As Thomas Jefferson observed about blacks: "They are more ardent after their female: but love seems with them to be more an eager desire, than a tender delicate mixture of sentiment and sensation. Their griefs are transient. Those numberless afflictions, which render it doubtful whether heaven has given life to us in mercy or in wrath, are less felt, and sooner forgotten with them. In general, their existence appears to participate more of sensation than reflection." (I.E. They'll screw anything in sight) We tend to think that there were more male slaves than female slaves, but the numbers were somewhat equal.



After the end of the Civil War, black men and women should have gotten together, staked a land claim and began having children. Five to ten children per family was not uncommon in those days.



40 Acres and a mule.



Union General Sherman's Special Field Orders No. 15 confiscated 400,000 acres of land along the Atlantic coast and divided it into 40 acre parcels that were to be settled by roughly 18,000 freed slaves. It was mostly a useless order since it was revoked later that same year (1865) by President Andrew Johnson, a Democrat turned National Union Party member, who succeeded the Republican Lincoln after he was assinated. ( In 1864 Johnson joined the National Union Party that was the name chosen by the Republican party for the 1864 election. The name change was used to attract War Democrats. Johnson was basically a RINO, having swtched parties for political expediency.)



As an aside, although I think slave reparations are an idiotic idea today, I might get on board with having a lottery and giving 18,000 blacks, who could prove they had ancestors alive during the civil war, a 40 acre parcel of land and a car since it's obvious they got screwed on that deal. At any rate, it's just another way the blacks got screwed by the Dems.



Before continuing, I would offer that one point to consider is that most blacks were illiterate and generally unskilled, so, releasing millions of slaves into the general population in a post Civil War environment was bound to generate some problems. Was there any evidence that blacks were murdered in quantity and were committing serious crimes due to various types of mistreatment (and due to the fact they were undisciplined savages)? Actually, yes.



The Freedmen's Bureau:




The Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen and Abandoned Lands, known more simply as the Freedmen's Bureau was established in March of 1865 and was discontinued by President Grant in 1872. The Bureau was set up to help newly freed slaves with food, clothing, HEALTH CARE, and jobs.



Goodl ol' RINO President Johnson vetoed a bill for an increase in the power of the Bureau in 1866. One thing the Freedmen's Bureau did do was document various crimes committed by blacks and it documented some of the mistreatment of blacks. (Link) I'm including the appendix so you can see the scale of violence and murder committed against blacks as well as the crimes they committed. Keep in mind that the appendix is but a small percentage of the overall violence that was happening at that time. You can scroll through the appendix and view it later in detail if you wish.

Basically, southern Democrats had a field day killing blacks. Remember also that with technology what it was in those days, it would be a simple matter for a white to kill a black family in a rural area and make a claim on their property or force them to sign the property over and kill them. (As many blacks would not understand what they were signing)



It is probable that as many as one million blacks were killed by whites during Reconstruction. The census data seems to support this. So where are all the remains of the dead blacks? Growing up in the South, I can remember the local paper frequently reporting on old unmarked colored cemeteries being discovered. The remains were usually relocated.



It appears that the black population was attempting to make a comeback between the 1870 and 1880 census, but alas, this was not to be. The increasing black population came under the scrutiny of the Southern Democrats.



The Compromise of 1877



The Compromise of 1877 basically threw the disputed 1876 Presidential election to Republican Rutherford B. Hayes in exchange for the removal of Federal troops from the South and adding at least one Southern Democrat on Haye's cabinet. Thus, Southern Democrats, usually via the KKK, continued the black slaughter. Now, I documented in a previous post about the fact that there were several thousand blacks in the Klan at one time. Most were used as spies so the Klan could keep track of the blacks. Also, at the height of Klan power they had three million members at a time when the total U.S. population was under a hundred million or so.



To further keep the brothers down, when white Democrats regained control of the South in the 1870's they began to pull funding for black schools. By the 1890's Jim Crow laws were keeping segregation in full force. However, when the Democrats figured out that under segregation blacks were getting rich and gaining political clout, something had to be done....so, later, the Democrats went in for desegregation.



In the interim, we have the liberal Margaret Sanger, founder of Planned Parenthood. Sanger was a big advocate of eugenics. One of her better known quotes: " It is said that a fish as large as a man has a brain no larger than the kernel of an almond. In all fish and reptiles where there is no great brain development, there is also no conscious sexual control. The lower down in the scale of human development we go the less sexual control we find. It is said that the aboriginal Australian, the lowest known species of the human family, just a step higher than the chimpanzee in brain development, has so little sexual control that police authority alone prevents him from obtaining sexual satisfaction on the streets." (This might be a good time for y'all to check the rape stats for the Congo and Haiti.)



And we have this gem: "In 1939 Sanger teamed with Mary Woodward Reinhardt, secretary of the newly formed BCFA, to secure a large donor to fund an educational campaign to teach African-American women in the South about contraception. Sanger, Reinhardt and Sanger's secretary, Florence Rose, drafted a report on "Birth Control and the Negro," skillfully using language that appealed both to eugenicists fearful of unchecked black fertility and progressives committed to shepherding African-Americans into middle-class culture. The report stated that "[N]egroes present the great problem of the South," as they are the group with "the greatest economic, health and social problems," and outlined a practical birth control program geared toward a population characterized as largely illiterate and that "still breed carelessly and disastrously," a line borrowed from a June 1932 Birth Control Review article by W.E.B. DuBois. Armed with this paper, Reinhardt initiated contact between Sanger and Albert Lasker (soon to be Reinhardt's husband), who pledged $20,000 starting in Nov. 1939. Yep, no doubt, them colored folks have to go. Thanks to Margaret Sanger about 1,876 black babies are aborted each day. It has been estimated that since 1973 black women have had roughly 16 million abortions. (Thank God)



Time to get down to brass tacks. How many blacks have Southern Democrats, liberals and Democrats in general killed?



Currently, the U.S. population is estimated at around 305 million, with 14% being black. That is about 42 million 700 thousand blacks. Without Democrat efforts to control the black population, they should currently make up about one third of the U.S. population or about 102 million people. Thus, Democrats are responsible for the deaths/non-births of about 59 million blacks. The Nazis were alleged, and I mean alleged, to have killed six million Jews, while Stalin and Mao had death counts in the 40-60 million range, so the Dems are up there in numbers with their heroes Stalin and Mao. Yet, 90% of blacks still vote Democrat." Silly niggers, brains are for white people. " The GOP should just stop trying to court the black vote. We already have more ignorant people than we need.

MLK, Jr./Einstein/Obama and Hitler

 

 

This should probably be several separate posts, but here it is anyway:

 

A while back, I wrote a post about Martin Luther King, Jr. and his issues with plagiarism and serial adultery, which you can review HERE. Now, along comes another scoundrel who is considered one of the greatest scientific minds in all of history. Before I post the article about Albert Einstein and his plagiarism, I want to discuss a couple of other things.

 

Dimocrats generally consider themselves to be much smarter than republicans, who are largely considered to be buffoons by the left. During the presidential campaign comaprisons were made equating Obama with Hitler.  While most people tend to think of Hitler and the Nazis as a conservative and oppressive regime, Hitler was, in fact, a liberal socialist; ergo the National Socialist German Worker's Party.

 

Even among the Fuhrer's most ardent supporters, Hitler was not considered the sharpest crayon in the box.  Thus far, Obama has spent the last two years blaming Bush 43 for his economic woes.

 

When Hitler came to power the German unemployment rate was pushing 30% and inflation was still high.  Nonetheless, the dullard Hitler managed to turn the Nazi economy around within two years, while the genius Obama just spends his time golfing, partying or sittitng around with his thumb up his ass blaming Bush for everything.

 

So, how did Hitler do it?  Unlike Obama, who appoints fiscal morons to oversee the economic recovery,  Hitler  did at least have the G-2 to appoint capable economic advisers. One of whom was a fellow by the name of Hjalmar Schacht.  Hjalmar broke up the trade unions and imposed certain wage controls.

 

The government then expanded the money supply through the use of EFFECTIVE and necessary public works programs while limiting inflation. The Nazis limited imports and mandated domestic manufacturing and production of certain goods.  These measures greatly reduced unemployment.  Banks were denationalized and decentralized.

 

As we see, Obama is no Hitler.  Now about Einstein.....

Albert Einstein is today revered as “the Father of Modern Science”. His wrinkled face and wild hair has become a symbol for scientific genius and “his” famous E = mc^2 equation is repeatedly used as the symbol for something scientific and intellectual. And yet there has for years been mounting evidence that this “Father of Modern Science” was nothing but a con man, lying about his ideas and achievements, and stealing the work and the research of others.

The most glaring evidence against Einstein concerns “his” most famous equation. One website notes “The equation E=mc^2, which has been forever linked to Einstein & his Theory of Relativity was not originally published by Einstein. According to Umberto Bartocci, a professor at the University of Perugia and a historian of mathematics, this famous equation was first published by Olinto De Pretto …two years prior to Einstein’s publishing of the equation. In 1903 De Pretto published his equation in the scientific magazine Atte and in 1904 it was republished by the Royal Science Institute of Veneto. Einstein’s research was not published until 1905… Einstein was well versed in Italian and even lived in Northern Italy for a brief time.”

It is unheard of to pass over the original inventor of an equation and to give credit to someone, who claims to have derived it AFTER the equation and its derivation have been published. The equation “E=mc^2″ should be called the “De Pretto Equation” not the “Einstein Equation.”

This raises the question: “What sort of man was Einstein?” Is there evidence that he may have been prone to unethical behavior? One website reports “Einstein… was still far from the ideal husband. A year before they married, Maric gave birth to a daughter, Lieserl, while Einstein was away. The child’s fate is unknown – she is presumed to have been given up for adoption, perhaps under pressure from Einstein, who is thought to have never seen his first born. After the marriage, Mileva bore two sons but the family was not to stay together. Einstein began an affair with his cousin Elsa Lowenthal while on a trip to Berlin in 1912, leaving Mileva and his family two years later. Einstein and Mileva finally divorced in 1919, but not until after Einstein sent his wife a list of ‘conditions’ under which he was willing to remain married. The list included such autocratic demands as ‘You are neither to expect intimacy nor to reproach me in any way’. After the divorce, he saw little of his sons. The elder, Hans Albert, later reflected ‘Probably the only project he ever gave up on was me.’ The younger, Eduard, was diagnosed with schizophrenia and died in an asylum. Einstein married Elsa soon after the divorce, but a few years later began an affair with Betty Neumann, the niece of a friend… Accusations of plagiarism aren’t limited to Mileva – it’s also been claimed that Einstein stole the work of a host of other physicists. One question which may remain moot is quite how much Einstein drew from the work of Hendrik Lorentz and Henri Poincare in formulating the theory of special relativity. Elements of Einstein’s 1905 paper paralleled parts of a 1904 paper by Lorentz and a contemporary paper by Poincare. Although Einstein read earlier papers by the two, he claimed not to have seen these later works before writing the 1905 paper. One apparently damning fact is that the 1905 paper on special relativity had no references, suggesting that Einstein was consciously hiding his tracks.”

One source notes “David Hilbert submitted an article containing the correct field equations for general relativity five days before Einstein.” Another source notes “Einstein presented his paper on November 25, 1915 in Berlin and Hilbert had presented his paper on November 20 in Göttingen. On November 18, Hilbert received a letter from Einstein thanking him for sending him a draft of the treatise Hilbert was to deliver on the 20th. So, in fact, Hilbert had sent a copy of his work at least two weeks in advance to Einstein before either of the two men delivered their lectures, but Einstein did not send Hilbert an advance copy of his.” Apparently Hilbert’s work was soon to become “Einstein’s work.”

The historic record is readily available and the truth is known to many scientists and historians, even if they are afraid to say anything. The idea that light had a finite speed was proven by Michelson and Morley decades before Einstein. Hendrik Lorentz determined the equations showing relativistic time and length contractions which become significant as the speed of light is approached. These gentlemen along with David Hilbert and Olinto De Pretto have been airbrushed out of the picture so that Einstein could be given the credit for what they had done.

Einstein appeared to latch onto his first wife, a much more talented student three years his senior, to compensate for his own limited abilities. Another website notes: “…in 1927, H. Thirring wrote, ‘H. Poincare had already completely solved the problem of time several years before the appearance of Einstein’s first work (1905). . . .’ Sir Edmund Whittaker in his detailed survey, A History of the Theories of Aether and Electricity, Volume II, (1953), included a chapter entitled ‘The Relativity Theory of Poincare and Lorentz’. Whittaker thoroughly documented the development of the theory, documenting the authentic history, and demonstrated through reference to primary sources that Einstein held no priority for the vast majority of the theory. Einstein offered no counter-argument to Whittaker’s famous book. . .”

Einstein was a minor contributor at best and in any case an intellectual thief and pretentious braggart. Einstein was still alive when Whitaker’s book was published and he said NOTHING about it. No libel suit, no refutation, no public comment at all.

Einstein was the first great fraudster and idea-thief in modern science. His theft of Olinto De Pretto’s equation E = mc^2 gave him considerable scientific credibility which he built a career on. De Pretto was not a career physicist and spent his life as an industrialist, passing away in 1921. De Pretto had published his equation twice before Einstein and was no doubt amazed that someone could claim credit for his work. Einstein used and eventually discarded his first wife, Mileva, who was a much more brilliant student than Einstein and is suspected of writing much of Einstein’s early work. (She may have been reluctant to expose Einstein since he was still the father of her children.) David Hilbert’s work on the equations for Special Relativity was submitted for publication before Einstein and was sent to Einstein as correspondence. Einstein claimed credit for the equations which Hilbert derived. (David Hilbert passed away in 1943.)

Some university professors have stolen work from their graduate students and it would be interesting to see if any of Einstein’s students complained of such thievery. A plagiarist seldom stops plagiarizing especially when he keeps getting away with it. Complaints against Einstein however seem to disappear down the Orwellian memory hole. Einstein is clearly a sacred cow to many. A few have even used the word “heresy” to describe serious well-documented criticism and charges of plagiarism against Einstein. The truth eventually wins out and Einstein will someday be best known as a great fraud instead of a great physicist.

Dims lock out 'Pubs. Show their true colors.

"The Democratic chairman of the House committee responsible for government oversight has indefinitely locked Republican members out of the hearing room, following a dispute over a mortgage loan controversy. 

Kurt Bardella, spokesman for ranking Republican Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., said Chairman Edolphus Towns, D-N.Y., had the locks on the Republican entrance changed Tuesday. 

The move was apparently was in retaliation for Issa's efforts to subpoena records on Countrywide's so-called VIP loan program and for a video Issa's staff recorded of Democrats darting from their chambers a week ago in the face of a vote. 

"They say we will have access to the hearing room when the general public does," Bardella told Foxnews.com. "I'm embarrassed for them." 

Bardella jokingly toyed with the idea of "TP"-ing the hearing room in response. "We can play at the second-grade level just like anybody else can," he said. 

A representative from Towns's office could not be reached for comment. 

The chairman of the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee apparently was miffed over a video the Republicans took last Thursday and posted on the minority Web site. 

At the meeting, Issa had threatened to demand a vote on subpoenaing Bank of America for records of the Countrywide loan program, through which prominent members of Congress and officials are accused of receiving VIP loans. Democrats cancelled the meeting, though, citing a conflict with another committee. 

Issa's office posted a Web video, under the title "Hit the Road, Jack," showing empty Democratic seats in the hearing room, followed by footage of Democrats leaving their chambers. 

Bardella said his boss won't stop bringing up the Countrywide issue. 

"We're going to bring this up at every opportunity possible until we have an up-or-down vote," he said. "

 

 

 

 

Well, having Dimocrats behave like second graders is no surprise since most of them function at the second grade level. (There's a few on OS that are pretty sharp, but only a few.) The above video is great because it shows the rats scurrying back down into the gutter.

Of course the Dims do not want the light of day shown on their activities with Countrywide. Fannie Mae was just a cash cow for Dims and their cronies....at the expense of the taxpayer. The subprime mess was almost exclusively the fault of the Dims. Obviously, they were hoping the scam would continue longer. ( Can you say Community Reinvestment Act?...I knew you could.....good boys and girls.)

News Roundup

So, the MainStream Media has been busy lynching Rush Limbaugh over some supposedly racist comments Rush made. Although I am not a big Rush fan, his treatment by the MSM just illustrates they have absolutely no credibility left.

The MSM simply took unverified quotes from Wikiquotes and an unsourced book and spread the lies throughout the nation. They should be sued and they should lose big. Their lame excuses for not doing their due diligence are typical of today's liberal left wing media.

Conservatives have long known that it is the Dimocrats who are the biggest racists, but for those who need a refresher, here are some Dim quotes from redstate.com:

10. Democrat Fritz Hollings of South Carolina thinks being from Africa makes you a cannibal: “You’d find these potentates from down in Africa, you know, rather than eating each other, they’d just come up and get a good square meal in Geneva.”

9. Howard Dean(former DNC Chair) reaches out: “I still want to be the candidate for guys with Confederate flags in their pickup trucks.”

8. California Democrat Diane Watson thinks interracial marriage is icky: “He’s married to a white woman. He wants to be white. He wants a colorless society. He has no ethnic pride. He doesn’t want to be black.”

7. Howard Dean thinks service positions are for minorities, not big fancy white people: “You think the Republican National Committee could get this many people of color in a single room? … Only if they had the hotel staff in here.”

5. “Conscience of the Senate” and former Klansman Robert Byrd on equal opportunity: “I’ve seen a lot of white n*ggers in my time.

4. Hillary Clinton does an impression (complete with accent) of an African-American man who didn’t know what Emily’s List was: “She’s supportin’ all these people. She’s supportin’ Sen. Dianne Feinstein . She’s supported Sen. Barbara Boxer . . . She supported everybody. Why won’t she support me?”

3. Democratic Mayor of New Orleans Ray Nagin denies that white people might live in New Orleans: “I don’t care what people are saying Uptown or wherever they are. This city will be chocolate at the end of the day.””

2. Democrat Steny Hoyer reviews Michael Steele’s career: “[He has] a career of slavishly supporting the Republican Party.”

1. Then Senator Joe Biden fills us in on who works at convenience stores: “You cannot go to a 7-11 or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent … I’m not joking.”

Michele Bachman (R-MN) lets us in on this tidbit about ACORN via rightsoup.com:

"one way the banks could satisfy their requirement under the Community Reinvestment Act is they could partner with ACORN. So a bank could either make a cash donation to ACORN, they could give equipment donations or they could work with ACORN to provide these loans to people who are poor credit risks. One bank that did that was the Citizens Bank of Massachusetts. They put it in a partnership with ACORN. Minnesota Bank, Northeast Bank of Minnesota donated $2,000 to ACORN. New York Bank. We’ll put all of this information up on our website at MicheleBachmann.com. But this is huge. Here you have the federal government demanding that banks lower their lending standards. And as a threat to these banks the federal government says we’re putting you out of business unless you make these bad loans. But one way you can satisfy your Community Reinvestment Act rating, because you have to get a certain score, one way you could satisfy your score, give money to ACORN. Work with ACORN. You work with ACORN, you’re good with us, says the federal government. This is so bad. But the dots are connecting…

…Banks had to figure out some way to satisfy the federal government’s demands and so if they, you know, if they were nervous about making loans to very to people with very shaky credit, one thing they could also do is give money to ACORN. So it’s a form of payola. So the banks, in order to be in compliance with the federal government, would give payoff money, so to speak, to ACORN in order to stay in the good graces with the federal government. I mean, what else would you call that but a payola? "

And, in other news.....

From AFP:  "China has detected deadly nerve gas at its border with North Korea and suspects an accidental release inside the secretive state, a Japanese news report said Friday.

The Chinese military is strengthening its surveillance activities after detecting the highly virulent sarin gas in November last year and in February in Liaoning province, the Asahi Shimbun newspaper reported, citing anonymous sources from the Chinese military."

Yes, the North Koreans have an estimated 5,000 tons of chemical and biological weapons. If those 10k plus artillery pieces aimed at Seoul are loaded with sarin, the South will not be too happy about that.

As I say, Obama has a lot on his plate and the Dimocrats continue to just fizzle out. We have many potential problems of a very serious nature and we have a rank amatuer in the White House to deal with them.

WhoIs: Ni**er.com



A while back, there were some posts on OS dealing with the N-word and its continued use. I think it goes without saying that even if blacks are comfortable using that word among themselves, it has enough negativity associated with it such that its use should probably be discontinued.

After reading some of those posts, just for the hell of it, I decided to google Nigger.com. I really did not know what to expect, but I figured some white hate group had built a defamatory web site around it. Somewhat surprisingly, the search turned up a website under construction note. A "who is" lookup took me a bit aback. The site is registered to the NAACP and Network Solutions indicates its transfer is prohibited.

Actually, it makes sense for the NAACP to just want to "park" the domain to keep a hate group from getting it. Another thought I had though is that the NAACP could use that site for educational purposes, such as a history of the word or to explain some lesser known black oppression(s).

So, to help the NAACP out a bit........there appears to be several different origins of the N-word. It is taken from the Latin word Niger or the French word Negre, both meaning black. It's first documented use was 1786.

Some earlier dictionaries note that nigger meant lazy and that slave owners throughout the late 1700's and most of the 1800's used the N-word in a derogatory manner. Abolishthenword.com notes that in 1906 Booker T. Washington endorsed the term Negro for use in describing blacks, but as we know, the N-word is still with us.

Some additional lesser known history that might prove useful if Nigger.com became an educational website deals with the black worker displacement of the Great Depression. Huh? black worker displacement?

Yup. During the Great Depression, if a white man needed a job and a black man had a job, the black man was fired and his job was given to a white man. This resulted in many blacks being unemployed and having to beg for "work for food" jobs. I can remember my father mentioning that his mother would make extra food and give it to several black men who had families to feed, but who were displaced when they were fired so that a white man could have their jobs. (At that time, my grandparents were barely making it, but still managed to offer some surplus food to those who needed it.)

How widespread was black worker displacement during the Great Depression? It is not exactly known, however, a Russian researcher by the name of Boris Borisov has actually done some pretty good digging into the total number of American deaths during the 10 years of the Great Depression. He examined census data and found that: “According to the US statistics, the US lost not less than 8 million 553 thousand people from 1931 to 1940. Afterwards, population growth indices change twice instantly exactly between 1930-1931: the indices drop and stay on the same level for ten years. There can no explanation to this phenomenon found in the extensive text of the report by the US Department of Commerce “Statistical Abstract of the United States,” the author wrote."

"Analyzing the period of the Great Depression in the USA, the author notes a remarkable similarity with events taking place in the USSR during the 1930s. He even introduced a new term for the USA – defarming – an analogue to dispossession of wealthy farmers in the Soviet Union. “Few people know about five million American farmers (about a million families) whom banks ousted from their lands because of debts. The US government did not provide them with land, work, social aid, pension – nothing,” the article says. "“Every sixth American farmer was affected by famine. People were forced to leave their homes and go to nowhere without any money and any property. They found themselves in the middle of nowhere enveloped in massive unemployment, famine and gangsterism.”

"At the same time, the US government tried to get rid of redundant foodstuffs, which vendors could not sell. Market rules were observed strictly: unsold goods should always be categorized as redundant and they could not be given away to the poor because it could cause damage to businesses. A variety of methods was used to destroy redundant food. They burnt crops, drowned them in the ocean or plowed 10 million hectares of harvesting fields. “About 6.5 million pigs were killed at that time,” the researcher wrote."

We used to eat bush leaves instead of cabbage. We ate frogs too. My mother and my older sister died during a year.” (Jack Griffin).”
"So-called public works introduced by President Roosevelt became a salvation for a huge number of jobless and landless Americans. However, the salvation was only a phantom, Boris Borisov wrote. The works conducted under the aegis of the Public Works Administration and the Civil Works Administration were about building channels, roads or bridges in remote, wild and dangerous territories. Up to 3.3 million people were involved in those works at a time, whereas the total number of people amounted to 8.5 million, not to count prisoners."
“Conditions and death rate at those works are to be studied separately. A member of public works would make $30, and pay $25 of taxes from this amount. So a person could make only $5 for a month of hard work in malarial swamps.”
"The conditions, under which people were working for food, could be compared to Stalin’s GULAG camp." “The Public Works Administration (PWA) bore a striking resemblance to GULAG. The PWA was chaired by “American Beria,” the Secretary of Interior Affairs, Harold Ickes, who threw about two million people into camps for the unemployed youth,” Borisov wrote. “Harold LeClair Ickes (1874–1952) later interned USA’s ethnic Japanese in concentration camps. The first stage of the operation took only 72 hours (1941-1942)."

While I am not entirely sure of the accuracy of Borisov's casualty count, the death figures must certainly be higher than we have been led to believe all these years. (Interestingly, my mother used to refer the WPA[Works Progress Administration] as "We Piddle Around.") I have to wonder how many of those who died were displaced blacks who could find no benevolent whites to feed them.

In attempt to research the true Great Depression deaths, one finds that this leads to another shameful chapter in American history......segregated cemeteries. One of my past sales jobs was in cemetery pre-need sales. I was working in a rural Virginia cemetery at the time and had the opportunity to chat with one of the long time employees there. He mentioned that when they desegregated the cemetery in the 1960's, some whites were so pissed they had their relatives dug up and reinterred elsewhere. (And we go from that to electing a black President of the United States in only a span of forty years or so....at least some progress is being made.)

Long and the short of it is that I think many more folks died during the Great Depression than we have been led to believe and that many, many more blacks died than we have been told---remember, blacks made up as much as 55% of the population of some southern states. Factoring typical reproduction rates, one must ask where did they go?

As to the Nigger.com site, I do not see why they just do not eliminate the domain name altogether, but if that is not possible, they might as well use it to promote something useful....such as history.

(As an aside, the photo at the top of the post comes from the FDR library and is public domain. It depicts "colored boys attending a WPA household workers training center." Guess the Dems thought it was important to keep the "house boys" during times of economic crisis.)

Never Surrender


For the United States, WWII ended on August 14, 1945 when the Japanese announced their surrender. For Japanese Imperial Army Captain Fumio Nakahira, WWII ended when he was discovered in April, 1980 on Mount Halcon, which is on Mindoro Island in the Philippines.

I think it is a good time to reflect on this man's accomplishment. While many may deride the good Captain Nakahira as just being a dumbass soldier who refused to surrender, I have a different take on it. I consider this man a military hero of the first order. He took an oath to defend his homeland to the death and he did his best to carry out his mission.

Captain Nakahira is a man of incredible determination and fortitude, living off the land for thirty five years. Uh, how many public school educated, lazy assed Americans could match this feat? How many Americans today have any national pride or love of country?

While I'm not upset to see the Democrats imploding, their complete lack of guts on the public option of health care reform is downright sickening. The fact that so few Republicans support that option is utterly disgusting. The health care debate has shown all of us that America's days ARE numbered.

What happened to an educated electorate? Americans who have some sense of national pride and accomplishment? Public officials who do not needlessly send our soldiers to die in some third world sh*thole?----oops, that one hit a bit close to home. Where have all the American Captain Nakahiras gone? They've gone down the crapper, that's where.

We might as well rename the country the United States of morons, lazy asses and gutless wonders. A few of us (on both sides of the aisle) realize what is at stake, but it will take more than a few to solve the problem...........if it can even be solved.

So, do we at least try to support common sense legislation or do we just roll over and take it? I think the Dems have given us the answer (Republican support would be nice, but you Dems have the votes, just twist the arms), but I suppose it is not too late for one last push.

Obama caves on "Public Option", Dems toast!!

Both Bloomberg and AP are reporting that Obama is ready to drop the public option. From AP: "Bowing to Republican pressure, President Barack Obama's administration signaled on Sunday it is ready to abandon the idea of giving Americans the option of government-run insurance as part of a new health care system."

I am probably one of the few hard righters to be unhappy about this as I would have liked to see a public option passed in some form.

It was not that long ago that the left was crowing about the end of the Republican party, how we were finished, blah, blah blah. That assessment may not have been too far off the mark...........until today.

We have a lefty Dem in the White House and veto proof Democratic majorities in the House and Senate and the Dems then go and bitch themselves out to the Republicans. The 'pubs are laughing their asses off at this very moment, and they should.

My question is, what carrot was used to get the public option dropped? Was it solely Republican pressure and armtwisting and threats or did some group offer the Dems a huge wad of cash to just forget about the public option, or, was it some combination of both?

For the Democratic party, the larger issue is what is a party's future that cannot even get pet legislation passed when they control the White House and Congress? The answer, of course, is the the Democrats now have no future. The Republicans will continue on, though a bit leaner than before, but for the Democrats, caving on the public option is the death knell of the party.

Though I won't be losing any sleep over the breakup of the Dems, I am saddened that they were not able to do something really necessary and constructive for the nation. I am also a bit disappointed at the stupidity of much of the American public. Does the average idiot who still has company provided health insurance think that the outfit they work for would not jump at the chance to save a grand a month plus per employee by not providing family health insurance? More and more folks will continue to lose their coverage.

No guts, no glory Dems. Rest in Peace.

Pelosi: Throwing Insurance Companies Under The Bus. Why?

Here is the latest gem from U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nanci Pelosi, via Reuters: "U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday ramped up her criticism of insurance companies, accusing them of unethical behavior and working to kill a plan to create a new government-run health plan."

"It's almost immoral what they are doing," Pelosi said to reporters, referring to insurance companies. "Of course they've been immoral all along in how they have treated the people that they insure," she said, adding, "They are the villains. They have been part of the problem in a major way. They are doing everything in their power to stop a public option from happening."

Hmmmmmmmmmm, so, what is up with that? We all know the Donkeys and Elephants get big contributions from big business, but why is Pelosi biting the hand that feeds her?

You may remember American International Group (AIG). The U.S. government gave it $182 billion of taxpayer money last fall in exchange for a 78 percent stake. Of that money, $165 million went for bonuses to a handful of people in its Financial Products Group (FPG), which sold Credit Default Swaps (CDSs) on which AIG lacked the capital to make good. And $200 million more is slated for those good folks in 2009.

Another $12.9 billion of our taxpayer money went to Goldman Sachs Group (GS) so AIG could pay Goldman 100 cents on the dollar for its CDSs. Hank Paulson wanted to keep the names of Goldman and the other recipients secret -- since so many of them were foreign banks, but the information leaked out in March 2009 after Paulson left office.

Now, thanks to some solid reporting in The New York Times, it looks like the rot at AIG is not limited to FPG. While AIG officials have claimed that its problems were isolated to FPG, the reality is that AIG seems to have been running something akin to a shell game of massive proportions. Its shell game version took the form of selling insurance and assigning the resultant risks among its 71 different North American insurance companies.

Thanks to AIG's regulatory arbitrage -- taking advantage of the fact that its 19 state insurance regulators never conduct examinations at the same time -- AIG may have been able to shift assets among the companies to fool state regulators. If one its companies did not have enough money set aside as reserves against future claims, AIG could move assets to that reserve-deficient company right before the state insurance examiner moved in. And once that examiner was gone, AIG could in theory shift the extra cash to the next reserves-deficient company.

Want an example? Consider AIG affiliate National Union (NU). AIG indicated to Pennsylvania state insurance investigators that it had $33.7 billion in assets at the end of 2008 -- more than enough to protect against $21.9 billion in liabilities. But what the Pennsylvania regulators did not see is that $10.9 billion worth of NU's assets were investments in other AIG affiliates, which are not publicly traded and whose value is hard to measure. Subtract that and you have only $22.8 billion in assets.

But wait -- there's more. NU had $42 billion more in liabilities that the Pennsylvania regulators missed. How so? NU had obligations to pay claims of other AIG insurance affiliates -- the biggest of which was $23.1 billion that it owed AIG affiliate American Home (AH). NU owed another $19 billion to several other AIG afiiliates.

Meanwhile, AH had crushing obligations of its own. While the New York state regulators thought it had $26.3 billion in assets to a mere $19.9 billion in liabilities, the reality was far more dire. How so? AH was on the hook for an additional $120.7 billion in guarantees to 16 other AIG affiliates. Thus AH's liabilities really exceeded its assets by $114 billion.

To summarize, AIG's core insurance companies seem to be like a shell game which AIG was able to continue operating because it was able to keep the cash moving from the affiliate that one state regulator had just examined to the one that another state regulator was about to examine.

Unfortunately, it would not surprise me if this was happening and continues to happen at all big U.S. insurance companies. Moreover, I would be shocked if former AIG CEO Hank Greenberg -- who has heaped scorn on his successors -- was unaware of this practice. (Peter Cohan wrote this article)

The Democrats could have a serious problem since it now looks like AIG was just another giant shell game. The only way the Dems can get out of this is with a quiet bailout, again, of AIG. I think the cat is out of the bag though and Pelosi is distancing herself while getting ready for the new catastrophe of an AIG failure.

You do have to hand it to those AIG boys though. Run a huge multi-billion dollar scam, get the federal government to give you 182 billion, use 165 million of that for bonuses to executives "too valuable to lose" and now you may get even more money. Crime does pay.

I think you will find this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to insurance company scams and incompetence. I overheard a conversation the other day between two long term care insurance company execs. One mentioned that they had badly underestimated how many of their policyholders would be in need of long term care and that they needed to kick up their premiums by 40% or in a few years they would be out of money. Long term care is yet another healthcare issue that we will need to deal with.

Pelosi and the Dems could be in major trouble if AIG tanks, and it looks like some really bad things are going on there.
